During a recent trip to Bali, Indonesia, I was introduced to Kopi Luwak, the world’s most rare specialty coffee. This was the most exquisite coffee I had ever enjoyed to that point in my life. Unfortunately, upon my return, I was unable to find a legitimate source for buying this coffee in the United States. I also began learning that the vast majority of “Kopi Luwak” was either altogether fake, or was being sourced from caged (and often diseased) animals living in terrible conditions. Although I knew there had to be a reliable source for acquiring this coffee in its purest form, my search resulted in disappointment. That was until I was introduced to the most respected source for Wild Kopi Luwak in the world. I was so excited to finally have access to this prized delicacy coffee!

That’s when I began thinking about how the American market is completely missing out on this coffee. As the CEO of a branding agency, I knew we could successfully bridge the gap.

Conversations with my supplier evolved, we were able to forge a partnership, and Gayo Kopi was born.
